The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is one of the oldest departments of GATE. It has been establised in 2020. The Department of Computer Science & having and Engineering (120) Setes.The dept. has been actively engaged in teaching and research in diverse fields of Computer Science and Engineering. With excellent faculty, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers undergraduate (B.Tech) and graduate (M.Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering.

The core objective of the department is to fulfill its mission as defined in its mission statement. The following categorized objectives, when met, will serve to fulfill the mission of the department.

  1. An ability to apply knowledge of computing and mathematics appropriate to the discipline
  2. An ability to analyze a problem, and identify and define the computing requirements appropriate to its solution
  3. An ability to design, implement, and evaluate a computer-based system, process, component, or program to meet desired needs
  4. An understanding of professional, ethical, legal, security and social issues and responsibilities

  1. To adapt curriculum and pedagogy to complement the evolution of computer technology.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (POs)

1.PO1 (Engineering knowledge): Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
2.PO2 (Problem analysis): Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
3.PO3 (Design/development of solutions): Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
4.PO4 (Conduct investigations of complex problems): Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
5.PO5 (Modern tool usage): Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
6.PO6 (The engineer and society): : Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
7.PO7 (Environment and sustainability): Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
8.PO8 (Ethics): Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PEO1: To produce Graduates who will be able to apply principles of computer science and engineering to identify, analyze, and solve complex engineering problems.
PEO2: To produce Graduates who will be able to demonstrate proficiency in the core areas of computer science and engineering, including programming, algorithms, data structures, software engineering, hardware systems, and computer networks.
PEO3: To produce Graduates who will be able to design, implement, and evaluate computer-based systems, components, or processes to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability.
